KNIGHTS VS SEAHAWKS PREVIEW

O’Beirne is the current U16 and U19 head coach with a combined 6-0-0 record this season.

This weekend marks a significant milestone for our Under-19 team as they host the Solent Seahawks in what promises to be an exhilarating matchup.

This game isn't just any game – it’s the first time a Division 1 Under-19 match will be played on our home turf after the Knights stepped up to compete at the highest level of youth football.

We caught up with U19 Head Coach, and head of the academy programme, Jack O’Beirne, ahead of the match-up.

"This weekend is a historic moment for our team and our community. Hosting a Division 1 Under-19 game on our home field is a testament to how far we've come. The boys are excited, and we can't wait to showcase our talent in front of our home fans."

"Our preparation has been intense and focused. We know the Solent Seahawks are a strong team, and our previous encounter was a tough battle. The boys have been working hard in practice, and we're ready to give it our all. Our mindset is to stay disciplined, play our game, and trust in each other."

“As always at this time of the year we are missing some players due to family holidays and exams, however the roster we have available for Sunday is strong and I am excited to see some players make their debuts for the team.”

“Sunday is pivotal for us as it may dictate where we go for the rest of this season. We have the potential to be 3-0-0 after this week and start to kick on for the second half of the season, but we have to be tough and disciplined in every aspect to beat this Seahawks team.”

The game is free to come along and watch and will be played at Wellingborough old grammarians memorial sports field, Sywell Road, Wellingborough, NN86BS with a 12:00 kick off.

"Our fans are a crucial part of our success. Playing at home with the support of our community gives us an extra boost. We encourage everyone to come out, make some noise, and be part of this special occasion. Your support means everything to us."

We look forward to a thrilling contest and will have the full match report next week.
