TASTER SESSION STORIES: V2

Every week leading up to our next taster session - on January 12th 2025 - we will be looking back at last year success stories and speaking to players who attended, this week it is under-19 wide receiver Louey Franks.

Louey transitioned from other sports like rugby and football.

What made you decide to try American football and join the Knights?

I’ve always been a massive American football fan and have followed the sport for the last 3 years and when I had heard about a local team I only had one thought and it was to try it out and from the first taster session I knew I was going to enjoy and thrive in the knights environment.

What has been your favorite moment or memory from your first season with the team?

My favourite memory since being at Knights would have to be my first game away to Somerset, the whole experience of a match day was amazing and really showed me the tightness and family feeling you get with the knights

How has playing American football helped you grow as an athlete or person?

Since joining the knights I have improved as an overall athlete as they help build your toughness as an athlete which is needed to thrive in modern day sports

What advice would you give to someone thinking about coming to the taster session in January?

To anyone thinking of taking part in American football at the Knights I encourage that they give it a try, from day one you are treated as a player who has been there for years, your are supported immensely in every training session match day and even during off days you are kept up to date and will receive and tips to help you improve which is a key aspect that has helped me improve as a player in my first year of playing the sport.

Remember our taster session for ages 13-19 is being held January 12th 2025 at Weston Favell Academy, NN33EZ. It is completely FREE and welcome to all sizes and experience levels.
