Head coach Wayne Gumbs has shared his thoughts ahead of the 2021 BAFA National League - Central East season opener against Nottingham Caesars.

"Coming off the back of a championship-winning season with my previous team, I am looking to bring the same mentality to the Knights,” Gumbs said.

"The team has the drive and passion to be a competitive force and compete with all teams.

"Covid-19 has hindered us slightly as it has everyone else, but we have used all the time we have had available to us to prepare to play in our first game.

"The majority of players are still with the Knights and we have added more young talent to our roster.

"We also have added more experience to our coaching roster which has brought a fresh insight to both offence and defence which is another positive for the club.

"The new league alignment will pose some challenges, but they are challenges that both the team and myself look forward to overcoming.

"Every game will be a test and won’t taken lightly. The aim is to win but the goal is to have fun doing it."
